Garments: What art programs are acceptable for files? For printed garments we can work from files created in Adobe Illustrator version 10, Corel Draw 13, and Photoshop CS2. Other software programs such as PrintShop Pro, Microsoft Word, and similar programs usually are not suitable for reproduction and will require rework to make them print ready. Be sure to include all fonts, or to convert files to "outline" or "convert to curves." When submitting photoshop or jpeg files we need them at the final print size and created at a minimum of 200 DPI.
Can't I just increase the dpi to raise my resolution? No, once the art has had the dpi reduced it cannot be raised again. The files should be at least 200 dpi for shirts.
Is there a fee if my art needs corrected? For correction of files are billed at $35.00 per hour with a minimum billing of $9.00.
What is the charge for you to create my art? Creative art or design time is billed at $45.00 per hour. An estimate of time required for jobs requiring art will be provided at the time of order. All fees for art may be waived if your order is more than $500.00
Screen Printed Signs and Decals: It's best to work from the same vector based files as we do for shirt jobs. Why? Vector art allows us to trap spot colors to improve registration and all vector files can be enlarged as needed without the loss of resolution. If you need help designing your sign, decal, or banner job let us know and our art department will work with you. We'll let you know in advance if there is any fee for this service.
Can I increase the dpi to raise my resolution? No, just as with shirt art the files can't be sharpened just by increasing the dpi. Any jpeg or Photoshop files for all decal and signs should be to size and at least 300 dpi.
Why do I need white on clear products? Screen printing inks on clear backgrounds aren't opaque enough to stand alone. White is needed to back up the art so that the image of your decal stands out clearly. We can either print white just to back up the image or as a flood behind the entire decal. Indicate which method to use for the white on your order. Either way, white must be counted as an extra color when printing on clear.
Do you print 4 color process? Yes, though there are restrictions on line count and image size as well as resolution issues to consider. Please contact us when your job requires 4 color process printing and we'll work with you to cover all details.
Is consecutive numbering available? Yes, we offer numbering in 7/32" high numerals. Black ink only
Will you send a proof before my job is printed? When placing your order please indicate whether you would like to receive a proof and by which method. We can fax, email, or mail (at customer's cost) a proof. Please remember that production time does not begin until after the proof has been approved and returned.
