Die-Cut Decals
| Die cutting your decal order. We offer three options for die cutting: 1. Computer cutting: Best for cutting solid color vinyl graphics in short runs or cutting digital prints to shape. Cutting is through the face material using a computer driven plotter blade following the "die line" of your design. Requires no die making, not limited by size. Most cost effective for shorter runs as there are no die charges for this service. 2. Steel rule die cutting: Cutting is through both the face stock and liner paper using a steel rule die locked into a die cutting press and cutting the material with great pressure. Requires make up of a steel rule die for each shape, made by cutting the design into 3/4" hardboard and hand forming die rule to fit. Size is limited to the die cutting press bed size. One time die charges apply to steel rule die cutting, die costs are $$ to $$$ depending on size and intricacy. 3. Thermal die cutting or "kiss cutting:" Cutting is through the face material using a magnesium die which is made by photo etching the design into 1/8" thick metal. The die is locked into a thermal die cutting press and the cut is made using heat and pressure. The finished decal is like computer cut decals in that all the background material is removed, leaving only the design elements so that when applied the effect is that of "hand lettering." One time charges apply to thermal die cutting, die costs are $ to $$$$ depending on size and intricacy. |
